How do we Confront and Counter the Cynical culture?
I. BY REGISTERING OUR PROTEST BY FOCUSING ON GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS RATHER THAN MAN'S DEPRAVITY.
A. SCRIPTURE THAT REVEALS GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS.
B. GOD AS RIGHTEOUS.
1. Even Job never describes Yahweh as unrighteous.
2. God's Righteousness is His fulfillment of the demands of the relationship which exists between Him and Mankind, his fulfillment of the covenant which he has made with People.
a. He Upholds the upright.
b. He Helps those who have had their rights taken from them to Regain it.
c. He Protects and Restores His people.
d. He Heeds our Pleas. Psalm 36:5-12
3. God's Righteous Judgments are Saving Judgments. Psalm 36:6
a. God' Salvation of Israel (Us) is His Righteousness, His fulfilment of His covenant with her and also US.
b. We have experienced "His Saving Deeds" thousands of times. 1 Samuel 12:6-8
C. POSITIVE RESULTS OF FOCUSING ON GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS.
1. We will Live with God and Live the Righteous Life.
2. We will dramatically Trust in our Righteous God.
3. We will Voluntarily Obey God.
4. We will be used by God to Demonstrate righteousness to the World.
